Roberto Firmino to wear some shade of red next season

This Sunday Liverpool and Manchester United will battle it out at Anfield for a crucial three points in the race for the Champions League. However, it seems they are also about to enter a battle to sign a very highly rated Brazilian too.

Roberto Firmino  has been starring for Hoffenheim this season, and is valued at just over €20million. The Brazilian was understood to be close to a deal to move to Merseyside after several scouting reports by staff at Anfield

However, according to Daily Mirror Manchester United look set to hijack the deal and Louis van Gaal is desperate to add the player to his midfield.

If Brendan Rodgers does miss out he may be able to console himself with signing Villarreal striker Luciano Vietto instead.

The 21-year old has been linked with various clubs across Europe but according to today’s Metro his agent has indicated a good offer could tempt him to England. The striker is an absolute goal-machine and has 20 goals in just 39 appearances.

It hasn’t happened yet but if Arsenal do lose Santi Cazorla the club has already identified a replacement.

According to The Mirror it seems that Charles Aranguiz could be set to make a move from Internacional to London, having been linked with a move to Emirates for over a year now.

The midfielder is highly rated in South America, but his third party ownership may cause a few bothers for Arsene Wenger if he is looking for a bargain.

Fresh from a 3-0 spanking by Manchester United last weekend, today’s Guardian reports that Tottenham are desperate for some defensive cover. The club are likely to ship out Younes Kaboul and Vlad Chiriches in order to sign Kevin Wimmer from FC Koln in Germany.

It’s reported that a deal has already been struck between the two clubs that will see the Austrian sign in a deal worth under €10million
