One striker out and one in for Van Gaal?

The search for a 20-goal-a-season man continues

Louis van Gaal must wake up every day thinking what area of his team does he need to look at next, with problems pretty much in every department except goalkeeper. The Dutchman admitted over the weekend the club doesn’t have a striker who can get 20-goals a season which is probably bad news for Falcao, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie.

According to The Sun Falcao is set to leave Old Trafford having scored just four goals this season after a high profile and expensive loan move from Monaco.

The newspaper reports that the striker will instead sign for Valencia in a deal worth almost €60million.

Manchester United v Leicester City - Premier League

If one 29-year old is set to leave then another could be about to arrive as chiefs at Old Trafford are hoping to steal Ezequiel Lavezzi from under the noses of Liverpool.

The PSG man is a top target of Brendan Rodgers, who feels the striker could be a perfect foil to Daniel Sturridge and a more mobile alternative to Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli.

According to The Metro Lavezzi has previously rebuffed Liverpool twice but does expect to be sold in the summer.

Paris Saint-Germain vs Ajax Amsterdam - Champions League

If Liverpool do get pipped by their rivals for the PSG man they’ll turn their attention instead to Alvaro Morata at Juventus.

According to The Express the former Real Madrid man is also on the list of Arsenal targets this summer, and has expressed a desire to play in England.

He won’t be cheap as talk in Italy suggests that he will cost at least €30million if he is to leave Turin.

Juventus FC v Hellas Verona FC - TIM Cup

Tottenham’s key summer target Memphis Depay has been given the green light to leave PSV for the Premier League.

That’s good news for fans of the London side but bad news if they thought they could keep it quiet, with Manchester United also linked to the golden boy of the Dutch league.

The winger has  been in sparkling form for the last 12 months or so and despite Tottenham having a bid of over €20 million previously rejected they are hopeful they can fend off interest from Old Trafford for his signature according to The Express
