Did you know that Harry Kane wouldn’t be the player he is today without Tim Sherwood’s guidance?
Granted, we’re just taking Sherwood’s word for it but the former Spurs manager has certainly made the act of taking credit for the emergence of Kane a common occurrence in his punditry.
As 2018 gets underway, Kane remains one of the best forwards in world football, having found the net more times than any striker in any of Europe’s top leagues last year.
Records continue to stumble as Kane continues to improve but one shudders to think where he’d be if not for Sherwood’s wisdom, faith and foresight.
After all, Tim is just a straight-talking geezer who knows football better than some computer.

Last August, Sherwood famously claimed that “it was the belief of me, to be fair, that I needed to stop the fears of the managers who were managing at the time, like Harry Redknapp and Andre Villas-Boas,” in relation to Kane’s meteoric rise to prominence.
It was during Sherwood’s six-month spell as Spurs boss that Kane proved himself worthy of a starting role with the north London side and Sherwood never turns down the opportunity to remind us.
Tactics Tim was on punditry duty for Spurs’ 1-1 draw with West Ham on Thursday night and viewers were thoroughly unsurprised to hear Sherwood mention that he was responsible for giving the free-scoring forward his chance in the 2013/14 season.
Congrats whoever had 7.51pm on the when will Tim Sherwood mention giving Harry Kane his first team opportunity sweepstake

Tim Sherwood is actually name dropping himself in an effort to take credit for how good Harry Kane is. Terrible fella #TOTWHU

Took longer than expected but Tim Sherwood has finally shoehorned “I gave Harry Kane his chance,” into conversation.
