That’s one way of trying to make sure Shane Long stays.
A very, very unconvincing way, granted, but, if Shane Long is as big a fan of nice jerseys as we are, his head could yet be turned back. That is if his head is even turned away of course…
Listen, what we’re trying to say is that Southampton have a nice kit. Okay?
The bad news is that, unfortunately, the Saints’ April Fools’ day crest didn’t make the cut for their 2016/17 kit.
In spite of their lack of emoji though, Under Armour have done a bang up job in producing the club’s latest knitwear and, fitted with a dream of a sponsor by Virgin Media which blends perfectly with the colours and design, they have a real gem on their hands on the south coast of England.

Oriol Romeu, Charlie Austin, and Jay Rodriguez had the summer to themselves so they were drafted in to model the new kit which was unveiled on the Southampton website.
Okay, they weren’t the only ones.
And the club’s video to officially reveal the classy little number shows it off even more.
