An estimated 1,400 Sunderland supporters made the trip to West Ham on Saturday.
As a gesture of thanks from the club for their ongoing support throughout a difficult season, Sunderland issued every single one of them was given a free replica of the club’s green away shirt.
This follows the news earlier in the week where it was announced that the club would slash prices on season-tickets, which could see some tickets working out at as little as £18 per game.

‘To thank their fan for such tremendous backing, every Sunderland fan at the Boleyn Ground on Saturday will be given a 2015-16 away shirt courtesy of Sunderland AFC, with club staff inside the ground handing out the vibrant green away shirts to fans as they arrive,’ said the statement from the club said.
‘Supporters are also asked to take their seats slightly earlier than usual, ensuring that they are wearing their shirts, so that a photograph can be taken of the whole away end just before kick-off.’
