Steven Gerrard has praised Jurgen Klopp, three months after the German took charge at Anfield.
Gerrard had the opportunity to train with his former club during the MLS off-season, and believes the German is well suited to Liverpool.
Speaking to former team-mate Jamie Carragher in the Daily Mail, the former Liverpool captain started by discussing the 2006 FA Cup Final against West Ham.
With Carragher reflecting on how former manager Rafa Benitez had described the victory as an “emotional” one, Gerrard added that he expected more of the same from Liverpool under Klopp.
“Liverpool have got one of the most emotional managers in the game now.
“You’ve met him and you know it isn’t an act, is it? That’s the type of man he is and I actually think he is trying to put emotion back into the team and the supporters.”
After beating Stoke City on penalties to reach the League Cup Final earlier in the week, Liverpool will be hoping to reach the FA Cup’s fifth round with a victory against West Ham.
