If ever you were in doubt that the League of Ireland was the greatest league in the world…
Shamrock Rovers were victorious in the big derby on Friday night at Tallaght stadium on Friday night. They claimed a 2-1 victory over bitter rivals Bohemians and we could not be more thankful that the game was televised.
To say that the first half was forgetful would be the understatement of the century. There was a distinct lack of clear-cut chances in the early stages, but the goals started coming after the break. Brandon Miele and Michael O’Connor fired Rovers into a 2-0 lead while a late goal from Georgie Poynton ensured it was an exciting finish.
Trevor Clarke picked up the man of the match accolade for his fine display, but it was his post-match interview with Tony O’Donoghue that was the talk of Twitter.

After being presented with the award, Clarke swore immediately on the live broadcast.
He opened up his acceptance speech with the exclamation ‘fuckin hell’ before trucking on with the rest of the interview which you can check out in the video embedded below.
