In demand but still not confirmed for an SSE Airtricity League team.
Reports from several news outlets, this morning, had Shamrock Rovers all but set to confirm Damien Duff as a player by the end of this week.
Many clubs are in the hunt for the Republic of Ireland midfielder’s services but, as yet, he has not committed.
It looked as if Duff would be signing for St Patrick’s Athletic when, two weeks ago, he was pictured in Inchicore for a match at Richmond Park.
He denied that he would be joining the Super Saints’ ranks but remarked that his mother was convinced her son had finally made his decision.
Shamrock Rovers manager Pat Fenlon pictured at Tallaght Stadium today.Having grown up in Ballyboden, there has long been speculation that Duff would pitch up, nearby, at Tallaght Stadium and play for Rovers.
Hoops boss Pat Fenlon, however, appears to have knocked back the notion that another Irish international [they already have Keith Fahey and Stephen McPhail] would be signing up.
Pat Fenlon denies that Damien Duff is about to sign with Shamrock Rovers – "read the papers, don't know where it's coming from."

Yesterday Shams were expected to confirm Damien Duff's signature. Today they've denied it. Sure if he's stuck he could come to Derry.

Duff is currently completing a course to get his UEFA ‘B’ coaching licence and recuperating from a knee injury that prematurely ended his time with Melbourne City, in Australia.
