PSG are reportedly considering terminating Sergio Ramos’ contract

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly considering terminating Sergio Ramos‘ contract just five months into his time in France, with the defender yet to make an appearance for Ligue 1 side. Ramos joined PSG on a free transfer after his Real Madrid contract expired, having only made 15 appearances for Los Blancos last term, and fitness issues are proving a big issue for the centre-back.

PSG are not short of cash due to their Qatari-backed ownership, but Ramos’ €300,000 weekly wage looks more and more like wasted money with every game that he doesn’t feature in.

The Spaniard is still recovering from a calf injury suffered in pre-season, and his lack of availability is beginning to annoy the top bosses at the Parc des Princes, according to a report in Le Parisien.

The French paper claims the club would be willing to tear up his contract and let the 35-year-old leave the club if his injury problems persist.

Ramos was part of five big name signings PSG made in the summer, alongside Gini Wijnaldum, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Achraf Hakimi and of course Lionel Messi.

Thus far, Hakimi and Donnarumma look like the best investments, as Messi continues to wait for his first Ligue 1 goal.

Wijnaldum, meanwhile, has admitted he is ‘not completely happy’ at the Parc des Princes, with reports suggesting he does not have the support of the south American contingent in the dressing room.

Those hot takes in the summer about how PSG ‘won’ the transfer window are looking worse with every passing week.
