Are you watching Denmark?!
We hope not. We hope the Danish defenders do their homework on Shane Long and Jon Walters and can’t past the test that Sean Maguire slaps in front of them in the World Cup qualifiers.
The 23-year-old was kept well entertained during his brief spell on the sidelines. Having joined Preston from Cork City earlier in the year, Maguire was loving his former club’s Airtricity League win and all the celebrations that ensued.

That was the tweet Maguire sent out when City clinched their first league title in a dozen years but he was busy, on Friday night, retweeting scenes of sheer joy from Turner’s Cross and thanking people for acknowledging that he finished up as the top scorer [23 goals] despite not being involved in the final 12 games of the season.
This afternoon, Maguire was back in action for Preston and up against Brentford.
Having already scored three goals and provided three assists in his 10 Championship starts, PNE boss Alex Neil had no hesitation in getting the forward back in his starting XI.
Once again, Maguire was livewire up front. He kept the Brentford defence honest and picked up a yellow card for an early foul. He teed up Callum Robinson for a pop at goal and, after Preston fell 1-0 behind, headed over from a cross.
Heading into half-time, though, and Robinson repaid the favour to the Ireland international. He found Maguire in on the halfway line and the striker did the rest.
Maguire zipped forward and, when he reached the edge of the box, rifled a low drive into the bottom left-hand corner of the net.

Preston goal number four and, when you add in his Cork tally, his 27th strike of the season.
Sean Maguire is flying at Preston now. Great to see.

If Maguire keeps this up, he could well be starting against Denmark in those World Cup qualifier playoff games.
