James McClean may have to give up his title as Ireland’s classiest footballer.
The Derry man is known to help out with several charitable causes, but Seamus Coleman is catching up fast in the Mr Nice Guy race.
Reports today have emerged that Seamus Coleman has donated £5,000 to help a young Irish Everton fan, who is suffering from a serious illness, visit Goodison Park next season.
Six-year-old Daire Flannagan from Belfast suffers from Apert syndrome, and last night on a GoFundMe page, the name of the Ireland fullback, and very generous amount of money, popped up on the site.
Coleman was tagged on Twitter in an attempt to drum support for the fundraising efforts in recent days, and instead of just matching the target of £1000 for the trip to Merseyside for Daire and his family to watch the Toffees in action, he has helped donate five times as much.
His efforts have been widely praised this afternoon.
God bless seamus Coleman 💚💙💚💙
