You can’t keep a good man down.
Seamus Coleman is back in training for the first time in 10 months.
The Donegal native suffered a horrific leg-break back in March thanks to a reckless Neil Taylor tackle during the stalemate with Wales at the Aviva and, after months of surgery, rest and rehab, it seems that there is finally a flicker of light at the end of the tunnel.
Everton manager Sam Allardyce confirmed at the club’s general meeting that the Ireland captain has begun training once again.
“Seamus Coleman is due back. He has started training.”
“James McClean, his back is hanging off and he puts in a performance like that…” https://t.co/rP3kxUYpAX

The Toffees have been operating with Englishman Johnjoe Kenny at right back this season but a fully-fit Coleman would command a spot on most teams in the world and Everton fans will be welcoming him back with open arms.

By the time the next meaningful Ireland games roll around, the skipper will have long since been shot of the injury.
The Republic have two friendlies to tide them over to the World Cup where, incidentally, they’ll have a nice summer’s break.
