The Corkman finished off his playing career at Celtic.
If Dave Jones was fishing for a sound-bite out of Roy Keane, he got a small but tasty morsel in response.
Rangers wrapped up their first Scottish league title in a decade after Celtic’s 0-0 draw with St Mirren saw them drop 20 points off the pace with six games to go.
After former Rangers player/manager Graeme Souness effusively praised the new champions, and their boss Steven Gerrard, Jones asked Keane if he had any ‘words of celebration’ for them.
“For Rangers? No,” Keane responded before quickly turning the focus to Celtic.
“Listen, it’s obviously been a tough year for Celtic. But they’ll bounce back next year like all great clubs do.”
Keane finished out his playing days at Parkhead after a 2005 move from Manchester United. His testimonial game was between United and Celtic.
🗣"Roy any words of celebration for Rangers?" 🤔
🗣"For Rangers, oh no!" 🤣

That sharp rejoinder from Keane elicited a typically giddy response from former England international Micah Richards while Souness just smiled wryly.
Souness had earlier touched on Celtic winning nine straight league titles and how Rangers had to take a long and hard road back to the top.
“Celtic have had a period of dominance, which has been, I’ll say, uncomfortable for us Rangers supporters.
“They thoroughly deserve it. They’ve been fantastic all season and I just wish I was in Glasgow right now.”
