France are world champions.
They overcame Croatia in an entertaining final in Moscow on Sunday afternoon, winning 4-2. France opened the scoring after Antoine Griezmann’s free-kick deflected off Mario Mandzukic early in the first-half. Ivan Perisic equalised with a brilliant strike. However, France went back ahead when they were awarded a penalty for a handball in the Croatian penalty area. From there, France never looked like losing.
Didier Deschamps side went further ahead through goals from Paul Pogba and Kylian Mbappe in the second-half. Even a late howler by Hugo Lloris couldn’t prevent France from claiming their second World Cup 20-years after they first won the trophy.
Following the final whistle, France’s players were understandably delirious. Pogba and his teammates danced on the pitch while they waited for the trophy to be presented.

In the ITV studio, presenter Mark Pougatch asked Roy Keane what he thought of Pogba’s dancing, perhaps expecting the former Manchester United midfielder to be critical of Pogba.
However, Keane didn’t bite.
“I don’t mind Pogba dancing now,” the former Ireland captain said.
“He’s entitled to it. I don’t mind Pogba dancing. He’s won a World Cup. He can do whatever the hell he wants.”

Keane praised Pogba before the game, saying that the French midfielder looks a happier player for his national team than he does playing for United. Gary Neville also had his say on Pogba.
“A lot of people talk about the criticism but it’s nothing personal,” Neville said. “We think he can be better and we think he can do more for the team.”
