Manchester United ended a dismal season with a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa on the final day of the Premier League. This concluded a season which saw Man United suffer their worst league campaign in over 50 years and lose in the Europa League final to Tottenham.
Manager Ruben Amorim took to the pitch after full-time to deliver a speech to the fans.
The Portuguese native apologised to the fans for the season but urged them to leave it in the past. Amorim looked to offer some hope by insisting good days are coming for the club.
After the speech, cameras panned to Roy Keane in the Sky Sports studio where the former United legend could be seen smirking at Amorim's words.
Keane was asked in the studio whether he felt inspired by Amorim's comments. The Irishman's response shows he doesn't share the United boss' optimism following a dreadful campaign.
Keane said: "I'm not sure about inspired, but they can't get any worse than this next year, can they?"
The former United captain insisted United have to improve. Keane believes recruitment will be crucial for Amorim overseeing any kind of improvement, with players like Johnny Evans and Christian Eriksen's contracts up this season.
He said: "This group of players have shown this year, with the amount of games they've lost - and last year in the league - they're not up to it.
"That's not going to change overnight with the manager and the system and having more time to work with them [the squad]."
Keane added: "They need certain players to come in who know the league and who are men."
