“Is that the most Roy Keane thing ever?”
Roy Keane rejected the chance to wear the Manchester United captain’s armband for the final time on Saturday.
The former Man United skipper was a surprise addition to a legends match against Liverpool at Anfield, and came on for the final 15 minutes.
Keane, however, refused the opportunity to take the armband from his former teammate Ronny Johnsen.

Keane wasn’t having Ronny Johnsen’s lovely gesture in Man United v Liverpool legends game.
With 15 minutes left in the match, and with the score level at 1-1, Keane entered the fray alongside his long-time Republic of Ireland and Man United teammate Denis Irwin.
The home supporters at Anfield, unsurprisingly, booed the former Red Devils midfielder as he made his way onto the pitch.
Johnsen, who played alongside Keane in Alex Ferguson’s treble-winning side in 1999, kindly offered the Irishman the armband.
Keane captained Man United between 1997 and 2005 and was the team’s skipper during their most successful period.

He was also returning to the scene of his final game for the Red Devils, when he was injured against Liverpool at Anfield in October 2005, a month before exiting the club.
The Sky Sports pundit, 51, rejected the chance to take the armband, however, as Keane pushed Johnsen away.
The LFCTV commentator remarked that the act was “the most Roy Keane thing ever.”
The Liverpool legends went on to win the game 2-1. Florent Sinama Pongolle and Mark Gonzalez scored for the Reds, while Dimitar Berbatov scored for United.
Robbie Keane played for Liverpool, who were captained by Xabi Alonso, and set up the team’s equaliser.
