Riyad Mahrez admits that he thought Leicester City were a rugby team

Riyad Mahrez has played a key role in the Leicester City's fairytale season (to date).

With the Foxes still sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League, their Algerian international has admitted that he knew very little about the club before he made the move to England. In fact, Mahrez thought that they played a completely different sport. “I didn't know Leicester," he says in an interview with FourFourTwo. "In France we didn't really [know them] because they were in the Championship. I thought they were a rugby club. “I was like ‘I don't know’ but then I came here to see the facilities and they were good. I do not regret signing for them, it's the best club I've ever been at.” Things haven't worked out too badly, eh Riyad?
