REPORTS: Chelsea will announce Italy boss as next manager within next ten days

Darragh Murphy

So the Bayern Munich manager is the next Manchester City manager and the Italy manager is the next Chelsea manager.

The days of waiting until the end of the season to announce managerial appointments look to be long gone with reports emerging from Italy that Antonio Conte is set to be confirmed as the next Blues boss sooner than anticipated.

Respected reporter Gianluca Di Marzio confirmed that Roman Abramovich is set to appoint the former Juventus manager on a three-year deal and will make the announcement before the end of next week.

Interim Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink has made no secret that he had no real desire to take the job on a permanent basis and Conte has been the front-runner for the position in recent weeks.

The 46-year-old is expected to take to the Stamford Bridge hot-seat once Italy’s involvement in this summer’s Euro 2016 tournament comes to an end.
