QUIZ: Can you name Martin O’Neill’s first Ireland squad?

23 players, four minutes, go...

Robert Redmond

The Republic of Ireland management team will hope to mark their third anniversary in the job with a win against Austria on Saturday.

Martin O’Neill and Roy Keane were confirmed in their roles this time three years ago, with Latvia at the Aviva providing the opposition for O’Neill’s first game as manager.

Ireland won the friendly 3-0 on November 15, 2013. The result, despite coming against meagre opposition, combined with the appointment of O’Neill and Keane, lifted the spirits of Irish football fans and offered encouraging signs after the dismal final months of Giovanni Trapattoni’s reign.

For his first squad, O’Neill mostly selected players that had been available to his predecessor, but the new Ireland manager brought in a few players from the cold.

Can you name the 23-man squad present for O’Neill’s first game?

You’ve four minutes, and there’s one or two tricky ones in there.
