This is what you call ultra-competitive

The Premier League title race was over by about mid-February, so if you’re looking for some excitement as the football season heads to a close we suggest north Africa may be the place to cast your eyes.

That’s because of the frankly ridiculous situation where every single team, from top to bottom, still has a chance of winning the league.

Eleven points currently separate table-toppers ES Setif from basement side Na Hussein Dey with four games left to go.

We were never very good at maths but this suggests pretty frantic finish to the season.

Either the league is one of the most competitive in the world, or else the fact that a team is currently top of the table having won just four more games than it has lost may indicate a lack of quality.

Regardless, it’s a pretty bonkers situation, and we can’t wait for the next round of games at the start of May.
