Oh how Ronny Deila could do with reliable ol’ Kris Commons right about now.
The midfielder hasn’t featured for Celtic in the past four games, the most recent two of which have seen Celtic crash out of the Scottish League Cup and have their six point lead atop the Scottish Premiership pegged back to three.
In Commons’ last game in the green and white, he came up with a stunning volley that rounded out a comprehensive 4-1 victory over Dundee United.
But that was over a fortnight ago.
The 32-year-old has been ruled out ever since due to the combination of a tight hamstring and illness.
What kind of illness, you ask? This kind.
Commons shared a photograph of the toll that tonsillitis had taken on his throat and it’s pretty safe to say that he won’t be togging out on Sunday if his tonsils still look like this.
