Liverpool fans, here’s another reason to rejoice at the return of Daniel Sturridge.
The striker has recently returned to first-team action, is already amongst the goals and nobody should be surprised.
This handy graphic shows that Sturridge is only behind goal machines Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in the goal-to-game ratio department.
Lies, damn lies and statistics? Maybe. But @D_Sturridge @ LFC is amassing a decent record. pic.twitter.com/6w6CZXzYYA

The statistics are based on the games each player has featured in for their current team, so Ronaldo’s record would be less if his time at Manchester United was included.
But it’s still mind boggling that the Portuguese forward has averaged more than a goal a game for Real Madrid.
The youngest player on the list, and arguably the one, at first, who looks most out of place alongside such world stars is Harry Kane.
The Tottenham Hotspur striker has an impressive 28 goals in 76 games, almost the same as the world’s most expensive football Gareth Bale.
Mario Balotelli is probably a bit further down the list.
