We love it when exes get back together
Once loved by football fans across the world for his speed of thought as well as with his feet, it’s fair to say that Fernando Torres is now a very pale shadow of his former self.
Once the poster boy of Liverpool under Rafa Benitez, he has become somewhat of a joke figure after his £50 million pound transfer to Chelsea never worked out and he’s been largely making up the numbers since.
Well there’s no place like home and the Spaniard has decided that he might like life under Diego Simone for a while.
Just two days after agreeing a permanent deal at AC Milan, where he was on loan from Chelsea, an arrangement for him to play at Atletico Madrid has now been revealed.
The club seem pretty pleased that one of their favourite sons is back to where it all started:
A tweet we were wishing to post! It’s official! @Torres will wear the read and white again! #TorresIsBack http://t.co/8QTXnwBwNs

It’s understood the deal will see him play at his home club until the summer of 2016 and the ex Liverpool man has also taken to twitter to show the fans how happy he is to be back in La Liga:
At last back home. Thanks to all that have made this dream come true. Forza @Atleti. #TorresHaVuelto pic.twitter.com/HZjMI5v6Gl

Speaking about his £50m move from Anfield to Stamford Bridge today, Torres remarked, ‘Chelsea gave me what I was looking for when I left Liverpool… trophies.’
