So long,farewell
Manchester United may not have made any big January signings, sorry Andy Kellett, but they did manage to offload one particular problem that has haunted the club and its canteen for the last four years.
Anderson finally exited Old Trafford after seven and a half years during the transfer window, and four years of pretty much picking up a handy wage every week for doing very little.
He packed his bags for Internacional, but has paid tribute to the man who brought him to England in the first place for over €30million in in 2007.
He’s shown his grá for Alex Ferguson on Instagram just days after he left England for Brazil, and it’s made us all misty eyed. He posted a cute picture of the two men together with a caption:
‘Words can’t express how grateful I am to have worked with the best manager in the world…Alex Ferguson. Always supported me throughout my career and taught me so much, I will always admire the dedication you had to the sport, true inspiration…. thanks you.’
No sign of any thanks to David Moyes or Louis Van Gaal though, his other two Manchester United managers. Hardly a surprise considering Moyes flogged Anderson to Fiorentina for a loan spell and LVG ignored the midfielder.
Classy touch from the former misfit, but it won’t change the fact he was rubbish though.
