“Are you gonna actually play football?”
Man United legend Paul Scholes caused a stir when he commented under Jesse Lingard’s Instagram post criticising him, but he hasn’t stopped there.
Lingard has been without a club following a disappointing season at Nottingham Forest last year, but hs been continuously posting on social media about how hard he is working and putting in that “grind.”
The former Man United striker was at the club for most of his career, and never lived up to his potential before a loan move to West Ham saw him catch real form, and score goals for fun.
On his return from that loan spell The Red Devil’s thought they were finally going to see the best of their academy gradate but it proved to be a false dawn, and now he is left club-less with seemingly nowhere to go.
Scholes, who was always straight down the middle with his approach to football, punditry and life in general, seemingly had enough of the ex United star’s motivational posts on social media, and left a comment on one of them last week.
“Are you just gonna f*** about in the gym or are you gonna actually play football?” said the Old Trafford legend under a picture of the striker working out.
The ex midfielder has gone into full troll-mode now, and again commented on Lingard’s Instagram, this time under a photo of the 31-year-old with a ball, and a caption that read: “Discipline is explaining to your brain everyday that you need to sacrifice immediate pleasures to receive greater rewards in the future.”

Not one to buy into inspirational quotes, Scholes simply said: “There we go Jess… a ball.”
Lingard did reply however, stating that “my other post was a ball”.
Not satisfied by this remark, Scholes pointed out the obvious saying “You just need 10 more lads with you now”.
Never change Paul, never change.
