Manchester City coach, Patrick Vieira is being considered for his first managerial role.

The former Arsenal and France midfielder is currently a youth coach at the Etihad and is now seen as a possible replacement for Dick Advocaat – if the Dutchman leaves his post as Sunderland manager.

According to a report in The Mirror, Vieira was already identified as a potential manager by Sunderland in the summer before the club opted to stick with Advocaat.

Following defeat at Manchester United over the weekend, Sunderland are bottom of the table and yet to record their first win of the season. If Vieira does replace Advocaat, he faces a tough start to his managerial career.
