So what if they’ll have a huge Zlatan Ibrahimovic-shaped hole to try and fill this summer? At least Paris St-Germain have another lovely kit to pull on at the start of next season.

Nike football have just unveiled the strip that the French champions will wear as they defend their title in 2016/17, and we very much like what we see.

Available from May 20, the new Nike Vapour home kit comes in the traditional PSG blue with its signature centre stripe broader and formed by a series of red pinstripes, bordered on each side by a white stripes.

The eagle-eyed football kit enthusiasts amongst you will also notice that this season’s rounded collar has made way for a modern V-neck.

The sides of the strip feature blue stripe details that run the length of the shirt and down the matching blue shorts. According to Nike, the stripe expands when a player is in motion. This not only helps to provide greater ventilation for the players, but also reveals flashes of red underneath.

As for the socks, they are also blue with a red linear graphic seen on the calf. ‘Paris’ appears on the shin, as it does on the back of the shirt’s collar.

PSG have just two games remaining of their current campaign, Saturday’s final league game against Nantes (also Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s farewell to the Parc des Princes) and next weekend’s Cup Final against Marseille.
