Neymar’s agent has claimed Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain made the player colossal offers to leave Barcelona.
Wagner Ribeiro told ESPN Brazil that the forward was offered a contracted that would have netted him €770,000 a week, and that United were interested, but Neymar chose to remain at the Nou Camp.
“He was close to joining PSG,” Ribeiro said.
“He would have earned €40 million a year net (€770,000 a week). “Neymar was also close to a spell at Manchester United, but he extended his contract to earn less at Barcelona because he wanted to stay at Barcelona.”
“PSG were willing to pay his €190 million release clause, Manchester United were interested but PSG were closer to signing him.”

The figures mentioned by Ribeiro suggest that Neymar, should he ever leave Barcelona, would become the first player to cost more than £200m.
Paul Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola, who brokered the player’s world record transfer to United for £89.3m (€105m), said recently that the first transfer to breach £200m is just a few years away.
“How the economy is evolving, especially in the Premier League, we will not be far away from a £200m deal,” the agent said.
“They will probably be Brazilian, because they add something special. A wonderchild like the new Neymar or the new Messi for sure will make £200m.”
