Martin Skrtel has apologised for those insulting comments aimed at Jurgen Klopp posted via his Instagram account.
A screenshot of an Instagram post of one of Skrtel’s friends had been doing the rounds on the internet on Wednesday because it appeared to show the Slovakian defender voicing his criticism of the Liverpool manager.
Skrtel’s account commented under the post supporting a hashtag which labelled the German as a “dickhead”. When the original poster replied that they hope Klopp didn’t see the comment, the account responded saying that they hoped he did.

Skrtel has been linked with a move away to Anfield for a while now after having a lacklustre season with the Reds last year, with Fenerbahce being the likely destination. The initial reaction was that these comments was that it showed he was not happy playing under Klopp and that his departure from the club was imminent. However, that doesn’t appear to be the case.
The defender has since posted a statement on his Instagram account offering up an explanation for the comments which he admitted he was “truly sorry” about.
Skrtel revealed that because of his busy schedule, he has gotten a friend of his to run his social media accounts and it was this anonymous individual and not him who posted the comments about Klopp.
He confirmed that he does not share the same opinion of the German manager that was expressed in those comments.
