Manchester United linked with move for one of Europe’s most exciting strikers

Interesting option...

Manchester United will inevitably sign players in the next transfer window.

After a couple of stodgy summer windows, United were more decisive in Jose Mourinho’s first pre-season at the club.

The club signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Paul Pogba and Eric Bailly last summer, and then offloaded players such as Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay in January, neither of whom were Mourinho’s plans.

The United manager will want to add more players to his squad, which has underperformed in the Premier League this season. United are in sixth position with 12 games to go.

Antoine Griezmann is being linked with a move to Old Trafford that could command a world record transfer fee.

However, according to the Independent, United aren’t putting all their eggs in one basket, and are also interested in signing Moussa Dembele from Celtic.

The 20-year-old French striker has been in stunning form for the Glasgow club this season, scoring 32 goals in 45 appearances.

The Scottish Premiership isn’t one of Europe’s elite divisions, but Dembele is evidently a talented player. He will also net Celtic a massive profit if he leaves the club.

Celtic paid Fulham just £500,000 for the striker last summer, a compensation fee as he was out of contract with the London club. Dembele is currently valued at over £30m, and was linked with a January move to Chelsea.

United reportedly tried to sign the player when he was with Fulham, as did Tottenham Hotspur.
