Manchester United fans rage as rumours of two omissions from squad to play Liverpool gain traction

They're getting restless...

Robert Redmond

Some Manchester United fans are naturally nervous ahead of Monday night’s game against Liverpool, and this rumour isn’t helping.

The squads for the game at Anfield won’t be announced until an hour or so before kick-off, but rumours began to spread during the afternoon that Anthony Martial and Henrikh Mkhitaryan won’t even be on the bench for the game.

French forward Martial famously scored on his debut for United in the game against Liverpool at Old Trafford last season, while much is expected of Mkhitaryan, who arrived from Borussia Dortmund during the summer.

However, Martial has appeared short of form so far this season, and his Armenian teammate has no form whatsoever to speak of, having barely featured in the starting XI.

Yet, some United fans are annoyed and dismayed by rumours that the pair are not part of the first-team squad for tonight’s game. Jose Mourinho could have a mutiny on his hands if they aren’t in the squad, or if he starts Wayne Rooney and Marouane Fellaini.

Of course, if United win, all will be forgiven. Over to you, Jose.
