All football fans seem to think they’re hard done by when it comes to officiating and favouritism.
It was ever thus and it always will be. Your team is always singled out for discrimination, whilst your fiercest rivals get off scot-free time and time again. The big clubs get all the decisions…unless you support a big club, in which case they’re targeted to be made an example of.
Many feel that Manchester United is particular are the ultimate referee’s pets. Of course United fans think nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, they were screaming blue murder at their telly screens on Wednesday night as they watched Leroy Sane accost the ref against Huddersfield.
The German ace got Manchester City’s equaliser in a 5-1 romp and subsequently shoved three begloved digits into Paul Tierney’s face. The act – apparently suggesting that the official had failed to award three penalties in the home side’s favour – did not result in any punishment.
This was enough to rile United fans who think it’s one rule for them and another for others. But of course it is, and vice-versa…

@IdMjones WTF? If he doesn't get a ban for that then that's fucking absurd! He's bot far from assaulting the ref!

No yellow card for Sane for taunting the ref there after he scored?

If Sane was a United player he'd have probably got a red for that.

If a United-player had done what Sane did it would have been a straight red and Stop the Press!!!

Utterly disgraceful behaviour from Sane waving his hands in front of the ref like that and the ref is too terrified to give him a booking
