Over the years, Manchester City supporters have been on the wrong end of plenty of taunts from fans of their city rivals about their inability to fill the Etihad Stadium on matchdays.
United fans frequently refer to it as the ‘Emptyhad’ and social media is awash with pictures of clusters of vacant blue seats whenever City fail to completely sell out a televised home game.

However, having failed to reach the knock-out stages of the Champions League, United are facing up to some similar problems ahead of their tie with FC Midtjylland on February 25.
With so little interest in the tie with the Danish side, it’s being reported that United could close their largest stand, the 26,000 capacity Sir Alex Ferguson stand.
