Manchester City’s Champions League tie against Borussia Monchengladbach has been postponed due to adverse weather conditions.
Manchester has experienced a day of torrential rain. The Etihad Stadium had been practically deserted an hour before kick-off because of the conditions, and areas around the stadium were closed due to flooding.
Referee Bjorn Kuipers inspected the pitch and took the decision to postpone the game, as the ball was clearly not bouncing or moving cleanly across the surface.
