Man United’s Adidas kit deal to be blown out of the water by Real Madrid’s record-breaking agreement

Simon Lloyd

Man United’s lucrative kit deal with Adidas is set to be beaten, with the German sportswear giant close to a sealing a new agreement with Real Madrid.

United signed a £750m ten year contract with Adidas, which saw them take over from Nike with the production of the club’s kits.

Although it currently stands as the biggest deal of its kind, it appears Adidas will be shelling out even more money to renew their contract with Real Madrid.

According to a report by Marca, Real will receive £106m a year for their new deal with Adidas over the next decade, a significant increase on the amount being paid to United.

Unlike many other kit deals, it’s understood that a clause in the existing contract between Real and Adidas meant that the club were not allowed to enter conversations with any rival companies.

Adidas also recently agreed a new deal with Bayern Munich, who receive £60m-a-year – the third largest deal of its kind.
