They’re getting desperate now.
Manchester United are interested in making a move to sign Christian Pulisic on loan from Premier League rivals Chelsea.
The Athletic have reported that United are considering launching a loan bid for the USMNT captain as they look to bolster their attacking ranks.
Pulisic has become frustrated with the lack of opportunities at Stamford Bridge and is keen for regular football ahead of leading his nation at the World Cup in Qatar this winter.
The 23-year-old has been the subject of interest from other clubs too. Newcastle United, Juventus and Atletico Madrid have all made approaches for the winger but it is believed he would be open to a move to Old Trafford.
Chelsea are keen to revitalise their attacking options and Thomas Tuchel has already gotten ride of two forwards. Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku have both left, Werner permanently and Lukaku on loan.
Callum Hudson-Odoi and Hakim Ziyech have also received interest from other clubs too, the latter admired by United, as they try to sign Everton winger Anthony Gordon.
United have had a horrid start to the season and are bottom of the table after losing their first two games against Brighton and Brentford.
Erik ten Hag has had a frustrating transfer window and failed to conduct the mass overhaul the squad so desperately needs. The Red Devils are in desperate need of new forward-thinking options and Pulisic would represent that.
Should a move to sign the American prove to be successful, Ten Hag still wants to bring in a number nine, a goalkeeper and a midfielder before the window shuts on September 1.
