Louis van Gaal confirms his time at Manchester United is over

Kevin McGillicuddy

You would have to feel sorry for Louis van Gaal.

The Dutchman has tried to put a brave face on the constant rumours of his departure at Manchester United all season, but this morning finally appeared to crack.

The former Ajax coach didn’t even get the chance to celebrate Manchester United’s F.A Cup success on Saturday afternoon before it as seemingly confirmed by sources that Jose Mourinho would be taking his job next week.

Though he tried to remain defiant in his post-match press conference, the Guardian are today reporting that he has confirmed he will be soon unemployed after leaving the team hotel in London this morning.

The 63-year-old is alleged to have told a Sky cameraman as he left
“No, no, no, it’s over” when asked about his future at the club.

His departure is likely to be confirmed on Monday afternoon, with Mourinho set to be unveiled as his successor sometime this week.

The quote may not have anything to do with his future, but we doubt that LvG would be so despondent if he was just talking about the end of the buffet breakfast service at the hotel.
