Ooh la la.
Anfield has become an even more intimidating place this season with the redevelopment of their Main Stand.
The new stand opened to fans in September at the beginning of the season which increased the capacity of the famous stadium by 8,500.
As a result, it is now one of the largest all-seater stands in Europe.
It has definitely gone down well with the Liverpool faithful and there is still planning permission in place for a potential expansion of the Anfield Road end which would increase the stadium’s overall capacity to about 59,000.
However, with all the redevelopment which took place on the Main Stand, much of the inner-working of this piece of infrastructure were still not complete – and that includes the players’ dressing rooms.
Players, were until now, based in temporary facilities but ahead of this weekend’s Merseyside derby, both sets of players will get to use the lavish new dressing rooms.
And we must say, they look pretty damn slick.
Each player has their own spot with personalised nameplate.
Nice large screen TV for some half-time analysis.
Incredibly spacious.
We can’t imagine it will be this pristine at full-time.
In addition to the changing rooms, there is now also a dedicated warm-up area and treatement room with the latest 4G artificial turf.
Journalists will also be pleased that the new media centre is ready for use for this weekend’s Merseyside derby.
It will be interesting to see if these new plush surroundings will encourage the players’ in what will be a tightly contested affair against bitter rivals Everton.
