“Unfortunately I’ve picked up an injury that will keep me out until the end of the season.”
One of the few positives born from Liverpool’s difficult season so far has been the unearthing of a young midfield star, but now his season has come to an end.
Stefan Bajcetic has been a revelation in the middle of the park for Liverpool, especially as The Reds struggled in that area in particular.
With injuries to the likes of Jordan Henderson, Thiago, and the inconsistent form of Fabinho, Bajectic offered a genuine spark that has been missing this year.
However the young Spaniard had suffered a stress adductor injury which Jurgen Klopp described as “absolutely bad.”
“With Stefan, it is a stress response, which is absolutely bad,” he told reporters. “So, he doesn’t feel a lot, it’s only a little bit but he is now out for I don’t know exactly how long.
“We have just to let it settle then and we will see when he can come back. [It’s] high up, around the adductor.”

Bajcetic missed last night’s defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League and has today confirmed that he will miss the remainder of the season via Instagram.
“Unfortunately I’ve picked up an injury that will keep me out until the end of the season,” he wrote. “It’s very sad to say goodbye to this amazing season for me but I understand this is part of football and will only make me stronger physically and mentally.
“I would also like to say thank you to you reds for all the support through the season and I assure you I will do my best to be back stronger than ever.”
