The last thing Jurgen Klopp needs is speed.
With Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah in attack, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain a bit further back in midfield and Nathaniel Clyne and Andrew Robertson at full-back, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has an abundance of speed at his disposal.
However, the German is forever looking to strengthen his squad and it looks as though the club have wrapped up the signing of a potential star of the future. According to World Football Index, Liverpool have agreed terms with Colombian prospect Anderson Arroyo.
The 18-year-old full-back has impressed at Botafogo-based club Fortaleza, with Liverpool keeping a close eye on his progress after having initially caught the eye on trial at Anfield as a 16-year-old.
Because a work permit may be difficult to secure, Liverpool will look to loan Arroyo out to Mallorca as part of the deal to sign him, where he can eventually qualify for a European visa.
Arroyo, according to WFI’s report, is a pacey player adept at dribbling. Strong on either foot, he can operate on either flank at full-back or further up the pitch in midfield.
Loaning him back to Mallorca may benefit Liverpool long-term. While he is not eligible to play in England yet, Arroyo can hone his skills in the top-flight of Spanish football before being integrated into the set-up at Anfield.
