He’s known for being the narrator of Channel 5’s Being: Liverpool – and starring in some Hollywood films that did quite well.

But Clive Owen’s priorities are firmly with the Anfield club he has adored since he was a child. Speaking on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the star of Closer and Children of Men waxed lyrical about his true passion – the Redmen.

As with most Liverpool fans, the highlight of Owen’s time supporting the club is the 2005 Champions League final in Istanbul, when Rafa Benitez’s men pulled off one of the most thrilling comebacks in the competition’s history.

The actor explains that he actually had tickets for the game, but was unable to attend due to work commitments – so ended up watching history being made along with Mickey Rourke, as you do…
