Liverpool will play Villarreal in the semi-final of the Europa League.
Jurgen Klopp’s side staged an incredible comeback against Borussia Dortmund on Thursday night, coming from 0-2 down at half-time, 1-3 on aggregate, to win with virtually the last touch of the game.
Dejan Lovren’s header made it 4-3 on the night, 5-4 on aggregate, and in the process eliminated the favourites for the competition.
Now only Villarreal, currently sitting fourth in La Liga, stands between Liverpool and a place in the final in Basel, Switzerland, on May 18.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to the draw, most Liverpool fans seemed pleased, and the ‘Yellow Submarine’ ‘jokes’ came out in force. (Villarreal’s nickname is ‘The Yellow Submarine’, while The Beatles, Liverpool’s most famous musical act, had a song called ‘The Yellow Submarine’).
Liverpool fans seem particularly pleased that their side is at home in the second leg. The first leg is on April 28, with the return a week later on May 5.

Villarreal vs Liverpool. Amazing draw for the semifinals – REALLY tough game. VIL are a slightly lesser version of Atletico Madrid.
