There are not many positives to take away from Aston Villa’s season.
Finishing the campaign with a club record-low points tally was just a numeric representation of nine months of underperforming.
But one bright spark of their season was the potential shown by full back Jordan Amavi, who looked a real prospect when he signed from Nice last summer, before a serious injury on international duty ruled him out for the remainder of the campaign.
And as he returns to full fitness, a host of clubs are lining up to take a chance on the 22-year-old left back.

One such club is Liverpool who, according to French outlet L’Equipe, are considering a €14 million approach for the youngster.
Jurgen Klopp has pinpointed left back as a position in which he needs improvement, with Alberto Moreno falling short of the mark on more than one occasion for the Reds over the past season.
According to the report, Liverpool have already spoken to Amavi’s representatives to register an interest in the Frenchman, but the Merseysiders will face competition from both AC Milan and Lyon for his signature.
