Liam Gallagher is not easily impressed.
Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher has previously accused Keith Richards of being jealous, called Ozzy Osbourne a “mong” and, bizarrely, suggested that George Harrison was “a fucking nipple.”
So, yeah. It takes a lot to win over the former Oasis frontman.
Gallagher doesn’t love many things more than Manchester City but, due to his curmudgeonly nature and unfathomably high standards, it still requires plenty for City players to convince the controversial singer of their worth.
However one player in particular has charmed the Songbird writer and even earned himself a delicious comparison with the best player in the world.
“I love [Gabriel] Jesus. He’s great, damn. I love it,” Gallagher told So Foot, as translated by MEN. “In the future, it will scare people.
“It makes me think a little about Ronaldo, because he often tries his luck. And I hate the w****** who do not try their luck. And he’s aggressive.”
Gallagher is never shy to offer his opinion on his beloved City and he is of the belief that goalkeeper Joe Hart was allowed to leave prematurely by manager Pep Guardiola.
“Pep made a mistake in getting rid of Joe Hart so soon. He shot himself in the foot,” he continued.
“He should have kept him for another season, especially with Kompany’s injury. Without them two, there was a lack of leadership in defence.”
A regular attendee at the Etihad Stadium, Gallagher is not willing to be too patient with Guardiola, who completed the only trophyless season of his career during his first campaign in the Premier League.
And if the Spaniard fails to deliver the title in his sophomore season in England, Gallagher wants him gone.
“It is absolutely necessary to win the title next season, we cannot leave it to Chelsea again,” he said.
“If we don’t win anything then he won’t be able to stay.”
