Lazar Markovic has aimed a dig at Brendan Rodgers, claiming his relationship with the former Liverpool manager soured when Rodgers “changed”.
Markovic moved to Turkish giants Fenerbahce in a loan deal at the start of the season after failing to make a significant impact during his first year at Anfield.
The Serbian, who has previously suggested that his dealings with Rodgers were problematic, has opened up about the deterioration of his relationship with the Northern Irishman in an interview with Fenerbahce’s monthly magazine.
“I had no problem with Brendan Rodgers and we had a bond until, for some reason that remains a mystery to me, he changed,” the 21-year-old explains in Fanatik.
“He stopped playing me and then at the start of the season he didn’t include me in the squad, and nobody explained to me what was going on or what his plans were, so I decided to leave.”
