It wasn’t that much of a surprise to learn that Roberto Martinez had been given the boot at Everton.
A poor run of form, disgruntled fans, a new majority shareholder… all the signs were there.
But way before Sky Sports News had given it the yellow bar treatment, people had already started to speculate who would be replacing Martinez, linking just about everyone under the sun with the ‘vacant’ post.
With Frank De Boer leaving his post at Ajax earlier on Thursday, most people simply put two and two together…
Wouldn't be surprised if De Boer takes the Everton job…

Frank de Boer leaving Ajax, Roberto Martinez increasingly likely to leave Everton. Would be incredibly interesting to see De Boer at Everton

But De Boer wasn’t the only Dutchman people fancied as being the next Everton boss…
We need Koeman i don't care, yes de Boer would be nice but Koeman would be the perfect fit.

And it certainly wasn’t just two names being put forward. There was soon-to-be unemployed Manuel Pellegrini…
Manuel Pellegrini for Everton, I say.

As well as soon-to-be employed (according to the man himself) Jose Mourinho…

Freshly relegated former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez…

Eddie Howe from Bournemouth…
Eddie Howe would be perfect for Everton (if they can tempt him north). Young English managers have to get given chances to manage big clubs.

The man Martinez replaced…

And just about everyone else…
Martin O'neil & Roy Keane. Serious candidates for the Everton job

Everton is the kind of job Ryan Giggs should aim for. Never ruling him out as future Man Utd manager but he has to prove himself first.

Throwing it out there, but am I the only one who thinks Quique Sanchez Flores could do a good short term job with Everton?
