Jose Mourinho is not messing around, is he?
He’s only officially been in his new job a matter of days and 24 hours after fielding questions from the media in his first press conference as Manchester United manager, his third signing is done and dusted.
With Eric Bailly and some bloke named Zlatan already added to the ranks, it was (finally) confirmed that Henrikh Mkhitaryan – a player whose name will be spelled incorrectly for the duration of his stay in England – has signed from Borussia Dortmund.
Speaking about the capture of the Armenian, Mourinho points our that he’s now added the best player from last season’s Bundesliga to his team as well as signing the best player from the French league (Zlatan).
“With Mickey we’ve brought the player that was voted the best in the Bundesliga. Voted not by the fans; not by the journalists – but voted by the fellow players. That is what means more, I believe.”
Describing him as a “fantastic player”, Mourinho goes on to praise the number of goals he scores and creates, claiming he will be of great use for a United side that struggled against defensive sides last season.
