Jose Mourinho begs Manchester United to hire him in stunning six-page letter

Dear Mr Woodward,

Simon Lloyd

In the wake of another defeat for Manchester United, Jose Mourinho is again being linked with Louis van Gaal’s job.

The former Chelsea boss was rumoured to be on the brink of returning to the Premier League over the Christmas period, with defeats to Norwich and Stoke prompting many to suggest van Gaal’s time at Old Trafford was up.

It is now being claimed that Mourinho is so desperate for the United job that he’s penned a six-page letter explaining his desire to manage the club and willingness to stick to the club’s traditions and principles.

According to the Independent, the Portuguese manager has also outlined his intentions for the club if he is appointed, even going as far as suggesting potential new signings.

Mourinho’s representative, Jorge Mendes, is said to have contacted the United board to discuss his client’s future.

Whereas some more of the board are more open to the idea of appointing Mourinho than they were when Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013, the report claims that there are still concerns from some of United’s board members about whether he would be a good fit for the club.

Perhaps this six-page letter can change a few more minds…
