A recipe for red cards

Celtic fans, meet your new least favourite player.

Joey Barton is set to become public enemy number one on the green and white side of Glasgow, with rumours of an imminent move to Rangers emerging this weekend.

The Burnley midfielder was shown around Rangers’ Auchenhowie training ground on Saturday afternoon, just a week after guaranteeing the Championship title for the Clarets.

Barton has yet to be offered a new contract by Burnley and the potential for a long term deal with the Ibrox outfit could tempt the 33-year-old to move North to see out his career.

Barton was named in the Championship Team of the Season and won Burnley’s Player of the Year award but talks of a free transfer to Mark Warburton’s side is rife.

Surely he will be odds on to get sent off in his first clash with Celtic. Surely!
