It really is as simple as just picking up the phone.
Just pick up the phone and get one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time on the line. Convince him to move to England and to Liverpool. And then never worry about him being 40 years of age, sure you’ve gone long enough without an established number one.
Whilst the world watched on at Loris Karius’ meltdown in Kiev, some laughing, some feeling sympathy for him and most smugly shrugging their shoulders asking what the hell is everyone surprised about, Joey Barton was seeking solutions.
Gianluigi Buffon.
The new Fleetwood Town manager had enough of what he was seeing in the Champions League final and reasoned that the answer was sitting right in front of Jurgen Klopp’s eyes.
Buffon has left Juventus after 17 years with the club, he’s retired from international football and, although Paris Saint Germain are favourites for his signature, Liverpool need a ‘keeper. So what’s wrong with Buffon?
If you’re Liverpool, you go and get on the blower to Gigi Buffon right now. ☎️🇮🇹🙌🏻

As Joey Barton opinions tend to do, this was another that gained a lot of traction at exactly the wrong time and the football-loving population queued up to let Barton have it back because a) Liverpool couldn’t get him and b) Liverpool shouldn’t want him at this stage.
And that’s why we love Twitter.
I couldn't agree less 😂
